This Week’s Weather in Bali and Things to Do

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a quick update on what to expect in Bali this week and give some ideas for things to do.

January is part of Bali’s rainy season. This week daytime temperatures will hover around 31 °C, with nights staying at 26–27 °C. On Monday (11 Jan) and Tuesday (12 Jan) the forecast calls for overcast skies with thunderstorms; rainfall totals are around 26 mm and 17 mm respectively. Wednesday (13 Jan) should still see isolated thunderstorms and heavy cloud cover with about 10 mm of rain. The air will be humid, so a light rain jacket and plenty of water are essentials. Sunrise is at about 05:46 and sunset is around 18:13 this week.

The wet weather doesn’t mean you’ll be bored. Near Ubud, you can visit Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala, a beautiful water temple where locals perform purification rituals; it has spring-fed pools and a series of waterfalls. When the clouds break, head to Melasti Beach on the Bukit Peninsula—its soft white sand and calm, clear water make it ideal for swimming and paddleboarding. For more adventure, the Aling-Aling waterfall trail in North Bali connects several falls and offers natural stone slides and cliff-jump platforms. You can also wander through the island’s terraced rice fields, take a surf lesson on world-class waves, or, if it’s raining hard, join a cooking or yoga class indoors. Bali’s charm lies in balancing iconic spots with hidden gems, so there’s plenty to explore no matter the weather.
